The City of Maple Ridge Information
The City of Maple Ridge is located in Metro Vancouver and can be found in the middle of the Fraser River and Golden Ears. Maple Ridge was first incorporated as a district in 1874, covering a little over 30,000 acres. As of March 26, 2014, Maple Ridge changed from a district municipality to a city municipality. Today, the city is made up of several distinctive communities, each with its own cultural history. Haney is the downtown core of Maple Ridge and where the majority of development is taking place. The population of Maple Ridge sits at 82,256 residents as of 2016 with a 8.2% increase since 2011 according to the Maple Ridge Census Data.
Maple Ridge is popular for the vast amount of beautiful nature it is surrounded by, specifically the Golden Ears Peaks, which is in the city’s notable Golden Ears Provincial Park and visible to majority of the Lower Mainland.
