Concord Pacific

Model Communities and the Future

Concord Pacific Developments Inc. was formed in 1987 to redevelop the former site of the 1986 Vancouver World Exposition (Expo ’86) on the north shore of False Creek in downtown Vancouver. Now known as Concord Pacific Place, it will become North America’s largest master-planned urban community—in terms of occupants and area—when completed.
In the late 1990s, the Concord Group merged with the publicly-listed Burcon Group which controlled Oxford Properties, whose office and retail portfolios were one of Canada’s largest. Subsequently, in the early 2000s, Concord Pacific became a separate public company and was then privatized.
Concord has since grown with the development of numerous large-scale, master-planned communities across Canada, including Concord CityPlace in Toronto and Concord Brentwood in Burnaby. The group has completed over 130 residential and mixed-use buildings. More than 50 are in various stages of planning and development, including in the UK.

Since its inception, Concord Pacific has expanded into complimentary industry sectors, including information technology, software, telecommunications, and green energy generation. Beyond its business activities, the company also supports people in their communities through sponsorship of major cultural events, sports, the arts and contributions to charitable programs.
