British Pacific Properties has been owned for for three generations by the Guinness family famous for their dry dark stout beer.
British Pacific Properties (BPP) was founded in 1931 when the Guinness family acquired 4000 acres of land in West Vancouver for $75,000. This land now know as the British Properties is basically north of the Upper Levels Highway and spreads from the Capilano River in the east to beyond Horseshoe Bay in the West.
To get access to develop the British Properties, BPP had the Lions Gate Bridge built in 1937-38 and also developed Park Royal, Canada’s first covered shopping centre built in 1950 to provide shopping for the area.
British Pacific Properties to create unique and exciting homes (see below) and will soon create Cypress Village which will be West Vancouver’s first mixed use development above the Upper Levels Highway at the base of Cypress Mountain.
